Our Mates assist our Captains in managing the vessels, and as in the case with the
captains, the job is all-encompassing and carries tremendous responsibilities.
It is a very important function.
Apart from our Mates primary duties, i.e. as a second-in-command of the vessel
and consequently the safe operation of the vessel, you are also expected to perform a variety of functions aboard.
You will also assist the Captain and other crew in the maintenance of the
vessel. You should consequently be a "jack-of-all-trades" and a master of many.
You should be a practically orientated and generally handy person with a leaning
at the mechanical, electronic, computers, electrical and quite a physical
person. The position as mate is very demanding.
Consequently, and generally speaking, we are looking for outstanding multi-faceted personalities, with
the highest degree of skills, integrity, social competency and pleasant
behavior.
